Our dear friend Elaine Tian is so incredibly talented and we are beyond honored that she graciously sent us one of her STUNNING handmade lamps for our raffle!
Elaine’s brand, Studio Joo, is composed of thoughtfully-designed and handmade objects comprised primarily of porcelain vessels and light fixtures. Her work combines sculpture (form/materials), design (function), and drawing (mark-making).
All of Elaine’s work is inspired by the wabi-sabi aesthetic which we are huge fans of. We own may Studio Joo ceramic pieces and two gorgeous paintings, all of which will be on display at the Catsino ;)
Elaine’s work has appeared in numerous publications, including New York Magazine, TimeOut NY, Food & Wine, Dwell, and in books such as Chic Boutiquers at Home (Ellie Tennant), Pottery You Can Use (Jacqui Atkin), and The Encyclopedia of Pottery Techniques (Peter Cosentino). In 2014, Elaine won the Madeline Sadin Award for ceramics, presented by the historic Greenwich House Pottery in New York City.
This piece is going to be a HOT commodity at the event FOR SURE. Do not miss the chance to own one of Elaine’s pieces… I speak from personal experience you will treasure it forever.
